Catawba River Camping at Catawba Falls Campground, we offer RV Camping, NC Mountain Cabin Rental, Tent Camping, River Camping, Mountain Camping, close to Waterfalls and Hiking and we are open ALL YEAR. Located in the mountains of Western North Carolina in the town of Old Fort. We offer a clean bathhouse, playground, fishing pond, river to lay down and cool off in, store, mountain crafts, RV Full Hookups, tent camping and rental cabin. We are now offering 802.11g wireless internet access only $5. We have been serving the public since 1981 under the same family. Close to all major attractions in Western North Carolina. Make us your home base and tour the mountains. McDowell County offers a host of attractions such as; Little Switzerland, Linville Caverns, Lake James Park, Mountain Gateway Museum and Mountain Mitchell State Park the highest peak east of the Mississippi. We are only a short distance to Grandfather Mountain, Biltmore House, Chimney Rock and Cherokee Indian Reservations, white water rafting and local ski resorts. Stay a day, week or month, you will have a peaceful and enjoyable stay with us. We are not a resort, just a family style campground that offers you a friendly and inexpensive place to stay while you visit our lovely mountains.

Bear Haven Cabin/Playhouse Cabins FAMILY OWNED SINCE 1982 This quiet and family oriented campground has been a family run campground with the sole purpose of providing you a safe and inexpensive vacation in a quiet and relaxing mountain setting. We are centrally located to all the major attractions in Western North Carolina. This site is designed to give you a large sample of pictures of the campground. On our Camping section you can pick Cabin, Tent or RV depending on what you require. Under each section you will find a link to go to the photo section. Other sections contain nice to know information and links to local attractions and services. Enjoy our clean river and Adam invites you to our new playhouse.

Active members of the Old Fort Chamber of Commerce, McDowell Chamber of Commerce, Ruritan Club, VFW and retired Army 1st Sergeant. We have over 25 years of repeat customers and now the children of our customers. Founded by Edwin and Peggy Kline the campground is now owned by their daughter Debbie and son-in-law Richard Acrivos. Their son Ricky Jr. and Daughter and Son in Law Kim and Parks Combs are hard working members of this family owned and managed campground.
